Will and Christy Galkin

 

 

Bio: Will Galkin has traveled in evangelism since 1995. He earned his master's degree in Pastoral Studies, and his wife Christy earned her bachelor's in Violin Performance. They have five children: Anna Grace, William, Lillian, David, and Eliana.

The Galkins traveled with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team for six years and have continued on in itinerate evangelism with their own family. Over the past twenty-two years the Galkins have participated in over 575 evangelistic campaigns.

During the remainder of the year when not on the road, Will and Christy are based out of Gospel Grace Church, a church in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Galkins, along with three other families, followed the Lord's leading to move to Salt Lake and begin a church plant to minister to the city in 2012. Will now serves the church in the areas of evangelism and discipleship, in addition to leading a number of other ministry related seminars. Their passion is to love and serve those in the city of Salt Lake specifically with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jordan and Shannon Allen

Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina

Bio: Jordan and Shannon, following their May wedding, joined our team in the fall of 2015. Both are graduates from Bob Jones University. Jordan received a degree in Bible, and Shannon received a Master’s Degree in Violin. Both have spent the past several summers at the Wilds of New England, while serving this last two summer in Salt Lake City helping with Gospel Grace Church. As they both look ahead, Jordan and Shannon’s future desire is to pursue their passion of church ministry with a focus of church planting. Jordan and Shannon head off our teen ministry and are both heavily involved in our music ministry, serving in ways that include guitar, double bass, voice, piano, viola, and violin. They both have traveled on team for two years.

 

Bethany Wescott

Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina

BioBethany attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and graduated in December 2014. She earned a degree in Marketing with a double minor in Music and Communications. Bethany has been involved in various ministries regarding evangelism and camp work over the past several years. Her desire is to use what she has learned for the furtherance of the Gospel and to serve the body of Christ. She serves on team by managing our resources, updating our the ministry website, singing, and playing the cello and double bass. Bethany has traveled on team for two and a half years.
   

Alicia Newcomer

Hometown: Ypsilanti, Michigan

Bio: Alicia graduated with her Master's Degree in English from Bob Jones University in May of 2016. She has spent her last several summers serving at camps or at her local church, in addition to teaching music and English at a school in Andahuaylas, Peru. Her desire is to use these tools to serve both in the local church and in foreign missions. Alicia serves in both our youth and music ministries in the areas of teaching, piano, voice, guitar, and mandolin. Alicia has been traveling with us for one year.

 

Andrew Smiley

Andy

Hometown: Paulding, Ohio

Bio: Andrew’s hometown is in Paulding, Ohio. He attended Bob Jones University and graduated in May of 2016, receiving a bachelors degree in Christian Ministries. During college, he spent his summers at Northland Camp as a counselor, while interning at a church in Boston over this past summer. Andrew served as his church’s music and media director while he was in high school and enjoys working in that field. Andrew’s primary role on team is being over the Audio and Visual aspects of the ministry, in addition to jumping in on guitar and voice. Andrew has traveled with us for one year.

   

Andrew Smith

Hometown: Fort Collins, Colorado

BioAndrew, from Fort Collins, CO, graduated in May 2016 from Bob Jones University, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a focus in voice. Andrew appreciates the unique community that music creates between people, and is thrilled to be traveling with the team. His experience working in both churches and public schools has grown his passion for connecting with young people, teaching, and simply making people smile. On team, Andrew is involved in our youth and music ministries, serving in areas including the guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, and voice.

 

Shelley Redlinger

ShelleyHometown: Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Bio: After completing her undergrad in Theatre arts at Bob Jones University, Shelley Redlinger decided to pursue her Master of Arts in Communication there as well. However, towards the end of her first year of grad school she was offered the opportunity to travel with the Galkin team. As an avid traveler and self-proclaimed people person along with her love for music and ministry, the decision to travel with the Galkin team was easy. During college, Shelley had the privilege of traveling with the BJU Drama team. Her time with the drama team wet her appetite to serve in a similar way in the future. During a couple of her summers in college she was able to serve as summer staff at Camp Calvary. She also had the opportunity to spend a month serving at an English camp in China. As member of the Galkin team, Shelley is looking forward to using her voice to serve the Church and build God’s Kingdom. She will also be occasionally stepping in on the penny whistle. Using her training from her undergrad, Shelley will also be working with our kids' program. Shelley is looking forward to using her passions and abilities while on the Galkin team to help build Christ’s Church.

   

Anna Grace Galkin

Bio: Anna Grace Galkin was born and is being raised on the road. All thew ay up through age twelve, her summers were spent as a camp staff kids Northland Camp in WI. There she grew like in a greenhouse that holds many dear people and memories.

Now she is a junior in high school and her summers are spent in Salk Lake City where she is involved at Gospel Grace Church. Being a part of constant community has taught er more things than she realizes. Besides being a part of a growing youth group, she is also part of a city soccer league. Both of these opportunities have helped her strive to be a light in the darkness and to love those in her city.

While on the road, she enjoys the experience of being in a new environment every week, as well as seeing all the different types of people who make up the Church.

A typical day is filled with school and music practice (violin and piano). Any extra time is promptly used to get outside, read, write, or hang out with people.

She looks forward to any teen activities the churches might have to be able to meet visitors and help them see Christ. She has also taken on some team responsibilities over the past two years that include helping run the sound system, managing the resources, stepping in and teaching in the kids' program, and playing the violin and piano for services. She's been a great addition and a true blessing to the team!

 

William Galkin

Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah

Bio: William Galkin was born and raised while traveling with his family. For the first nine years of his life, he traveled with his family and spent every summer living at Northland Camp, a Christian camp in the backwoods of Wisconsin. He now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and is involved at his family’s local church during the summers, while also traveling with the team during the school year.

William is currently a freshman in high school and is involved in any of the youth group events, whether that be on the road or back in Utah, and enjoys connecting with other youth his age.

William serves on team by playing the guitar, singing with the team, and helping out in the children’s program. Some hobbies he enjoys are reading and playing soccer.
